Continuing Education in Home Inspecting

I take about 80 to 100 hours of continuing education every year to update and advance my knowledge of home inspecting.  Just like real estate agents are required to take continuing education every year to maintain their licenses, ASHI Certified Home Inspectors are required to take a minimum number of hours of education each year to maintain their certifications and thus their memberships.  This continuing education insures that buyers, sellers and real estate agents are getting the best qualified home inspector and not just someone who used to build homes or who was once certified many years ago.  Materials change and applications change.  And, the worst possible aspect of hiring a home inspector who is not current on everything is that their memories diminish over time and what they once knew, they are no longer sure of.

TO STAY ON TOP OF THINGS, IT TAKES EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION!
